News about the Helping Hand Project

21. Oktober 2003

Dear Alfred, Pilar, Daisy, Dieter and everybody,

Guten tag!

Thank you very much for the nice clothes for my wife and good toys for my children, they like to play with it very much. One of our church member here with package distribution business got the package on the first wk of this month and it so happen that Lias barangay captain Romeo Cofin was here in Baguio City and so he got it and brought it home and sent back our package thru our mother who came to Baguio Thursday last wk.

May I inform you that yesterday Marieta and Elton Awingan and I bought a heavy duty brand new STIHL grass cutter for the Lias Fruit growers association and they brought it home already yesterday. Mng. Pilar and Alfred, i,m sure you remember Marieta who planted 1 hectare coffee arabica just above the road in Lias-You told me that you visited their farm when you visited Lias last April.

I told them to give it to the Association chairman-Mr. Ciano for custody, instructed them to make policy re. rules and regulations in using the grass cutter and I told Marieta that they place our name (Alfred and Pedro) as one of the signatories on the policy paper.

By the way, Marieta informed me that they have transferred the Nursery near the road since the owner of the first lot where the nursery was constructed will construct his house starting January. The area is already ready for the planting of new coffee seeds on December when I could get newly harvested coffee seeds.

They told me that most of the farmers are interested to plant citrus especially mandarin and lemon which are suited in the area in addition with the coffee arabica production. Kindly discuss this matter among the Association members if you could fund this additional project for next year when planting materials are available.

Thank you very much for your full support to our project and best regards to everybody.

Thank you and best regards to everybody.
Pedro
